Jed York is the CEO of the 49ers. As his nature, York is quite affable, accessible and agreeable.

Until the 49ers play a game.

York mentioned that the 49ers can afford to keep Alex Smith under the salary cap given a friendly contract. That may be true, but it may not be the healthiest thing for the team. I suspect it was a bit of posturing to help spur some trade talk.
