Before he flew to Houston for Saturday’s preseason game against the Texans, strong safety Donte Whitner spoke at the podium in the 49ers’ media tent. He discussed the way the defense practices, what he’s learned from Randy Moss and how …

Extra Point:

Whitner does a great job of explaining 'why' the Niners will have a edge this year. The way they practice, the way they apply their drills, the return of an entire defense - and of course learning from some great offensive players like Randy Moss. It will really be something if the defense can be as good or better than last year. We get another taste for it tonight - and I'm willing to bet the first string defense is not going to want to be shamed like last week.
