I am surprised the players got anything for "just making the playoffs". Beyond the that and t-shirt tis is a nice gesture, but I seem to remember a time when players would have said "don't bother, Super Bowl or bust". Whitner's explanation of Harbaugh being a "players first" coach makes sense. Harbaugh a former player himself, knows what makes these guys tick. The organization unlike in the last decade, is positioned to give the players everything they need to succeed. Interesting though that Harbaugh may have fuffleld some feathers with his recent conversations. Whitner intimates that some guys liked it, and some didn't. I wonder what that is all about? Will we ever know? Also interesting that Harbaugh's good-guy policy seems to start and end with the treatment of women. That's a great place to start when it comes to an open door it may be the only place to start - if you start talking about other areas (drugs, etc) players may not buy in.
