Where Davis fits among other 49ers pass-catchers

At 245-pounds, Vernon Davis is clearly better suited to play tight end, but it's not out of the question that the 49ers could use him outside.

It certainly sounds like Davis is playing with the media a bit... maybe more accurately he is playing with future opponents a bit. GIing them one more thing to think about, and to try and digest as they plan to face the Niners. Of course just because he' s not getting total work at receiver, doesn't mean he isn't honing some of his skills in the drills with receivers - anyway you slice it though, don't expect Davis to give up the tight end role an time soon.
