Week 16 grades: Niners comeback in Seattle, win 19-17

This is a portion of a syndicated post. Read the original at Inside the 49ers or scroll down the Extra Point.

Before I get into my Week 16 grades for the 12-3 Niners, I want to put this win in perspective. It was the best one of the year for Jim Harbaugh’s team.  It was a short week, they didn’t have …

Extra Point:
Playing in Seattle is never easy, and the 49ers saw that once again. Nevertheless, if the injuries to Williams and Walker prove to be over-come-able they will be overall, better for wear. If not, those two injuries could have a big wound on this team as it looks to secure the number 2 spot in the NFC, a home playoff game, and a first round bye (which is much needed given how banged up this team is). Grant continues to impress, and at the same time, dictate why he is not going to be taking time from Willis. Vernon Davis is getting more involved in the offense as the weapons continue to drop around him. Davis needs to become more consistent in the passing game, as Gore proved to do this week.. Both those guys can make huge plays in the passing game, but have had some difficulty holding the ball this season. That's the next step for them. Hats off to Crabtree who continues to deliver week in and week out - just like the entire defense.
