Tollner: Alex Smith close to becoming a championship QB

During his final stint with the 49ers, Ted Tollner didn’t see much of injury plagued Alex Smith in action. But he clearly liked what little he did see.

And despite Smith’s career trajectory, Tollner, an offensive assistant and quarterbacks coach …

Extra Point:
Tollner is largely regarded as a QB guru - though some would question his abilities towards the end of his career. His opinion is widely respected too. I find it interesting that despite naming two flaws I believe to be critical for a QB especially in the WCO - slow to get rid of the ball and confidense, he maintains that he is a good fit for Harbaugh and that Harbaugh can fix him. Is this a case of QB guru overconfidense in another QB guru? Huddle about it #Tollner/Smith
