Add tight end to the 49ers’ offseason to-do list. Their No. 2 player at the position, Delanie Walker, has agreed to a four-year deal with the Tennessee Titans, his…
Extra Point:I think the 49ers will use a high pick to draft a tight end... likely from Stanford. There was simply no way the 49ers would retain Woodson at the contract levels he was commanding. He will make more in the first year of this contract than he has made in his career so far. That being said, the 49ers offense, Kaepernick or not, depends largely on having multiple looks and options that come from similar formations - and having a utility player like Walker happens to help with that. Boldin will pick up many of the passing routes that Walker could run, but Boldin likely won't be used with nearly the utility which makes it easier to scheme for the offense (though not necessarily easier to stop).
