The 49ers made one of the surprise picks of the first round by taking Illinois receiver A.J. Jenkins with the 30th overall selection. Jenkins, who caught 90 passes for 1,096…

Extra Point:

Jenkins was the guy... a bit of a shock given that he was not projected as a first round pick, but Baalke has the reputation now of going against the grain. Jenkins has good speed, hands, ability to function as a returner, and is a high character guy. His balance and ability to get in and out of breaks I think are two of the things that sold the team on him.
