Colin Kaepernick went about business as usual at the 49ers' facility Monday, even as his national anthem protest drew condemnation across the nation, including barbs from presidential candidate Donald Trump, former coach Jim Harbaugh, fellow athletes and local police officers.…
Extra Point:
Well... the one thing Kap did manage to do, is get the entire USA focussed on the 49ers again. Unfortunately, for all the wrong reasons.
Look America, North America... may not be perfect. We have our problems all over the place... but as imperfect as we are... there is no better place, no free-er place to be then here. And the reason we have those freedoms is embodied by our flags, and the people who fight to protect them.
Make no mistake about it, Kap was complete offside by not recognizing that, and supporting his country during the Anthem. The very right to expression, and freedom of protest that Kap was benefitting from... are the very things he attacked... how sad.
With millions, and millions of dollars at his disposal, I happen to think Kap could have found a way better way to support those victims he believes so strongly about - without undermining the people who protect us so bravely.
The Kaepernick fallout: Nation, police, politicians, athletes react strongly
