Here’s a very interesting tidbit from the great Mike Sando on Trent Baalke’s free agency philosophy.

It's smoke and mirrors here. The team will invest in outside free agents so long as the deal is fair. They would even do it heavily if the deal(s) made sense. Carlos Rogers is evidence of that, and he's not the only one.
