Ralph Barbieri and Tom Tolbert interviewed Steve Young on the KNBR this afternoon, and here’s what Young said about the Niners’ upcoming matchup with the New Orleans Saints.

In how to beat the Saints, Young makes reference to Gilbert Brown, a man largely responsible for how the Packers beat the 49ers. Collapse the middle of the pocket. That will be a big part of the 49ers challenge this week. The insight to allow Smith to not make mistakes, and he hasn't all year, is a good one - but I don't think the team wants him to get any more conservative with the ball than he has been.
