Steve Young's observation is 100% accurate. The big difference though between what Alex is doing, and what Trent Dilfer did to win a Super Bowl? Alex has done "a spectacular job of doing that" as Steve put it, in referring to Alex's ability to manage the game and not make the big mistake. He now needs to do it consistently against winning teams, home and away, AND then start making plays that flat out are the reason why his team wins. Put that all together and you will have the quarterback we were all hoping for when Alex was drafted first overall.
