Extra Point:There is a faulty assumption to this argument the article assumes you can trade sacks for a penalty - maybe you can get an intentional grounding call - but there is risk in that move of a fumble or an interception and intentional grounding also results in a lost down. So what penalty should be traded for a sack? This simply makes no sense as an argument. Obviously you don't TRY and take penalties, but given the alternative (interception, fumble) it's not a bad move. If you can throw the ball away safely, and without grounding that would be a better move.
