Snap judgments: Ray McDonald, Justin Smith get more relief



In last year’s season opener against the Packers, left defensive end Ray McDonald played 100 percent of the 49ers’ defensive snaps – 68 plays total.

Extra Point:
The 49ers are clearly rotating their front line more often than last year. There does not seem to be much new rotation at linebacker though. I suspect the drop off in talent is more significant... though the drop off from Justin Smith is obviously huge. On the topic of defensive line, Aldon Smith had a phenomenal game, and his 1 handed sack on Rodgers was wicked to see.
