This adds to the idea of shopping Mays for trade bait, and virtually assures Goldson will not be returning to the team. Goldson has already tweeted his good byes. Sounds like this regime wants to have its own players wherever it can so there is no bad blood. ESPN reporting that the Mays email is highly unconventional and a potential strike against how the team is handling free agency. They are also surprised that the team would give up on a second year man, though local beat reporters have indicated that Baalke and Singletary disagreed on him.

Whitner is basically a lock for one of the starting spots at safety, and his contract is reasonable. He's a pretty solid player, and comes with plenty of experience. One of the few Bills I think I'd want on my team. Good pick up.
