Rd 2 Pk #48 Aaron Banks: You can hide more than 1.5 Raheem Mosterts behind him

So you think Javon Kinlaw is a big man? Meet Aaron Banks, he has 10 lbs (at least) on Kinlaw. Still not getting the picture?…

You can hide more than 1.5 of starting RB Raheem Mosterts behind Aaron Banks. Imagine running the payaction behind a man of that size. Try finding the ball. Now line him up next to Alex Mack. Kyle Shanahan's run game just levelled up. Now add Trey Lance a mobile QB with a great play action... sheesh I'm giddy just thinking about it.

What you need to know about Banks is he is absolutely massive. What else is there to say? Is he the best athlete? No. Is he going to need to work on his later movement in a zone blocking scheme? Certainly. Is he going to immediately upgrade the spot held by Brunskill? 100%. Will that make the 49ers offense immediately better? 100%. I don't think the 49ers could have found a way to imapct their roster as significantly as adding Banks does. Of course it also starts to create the long term security on an aging offensive line.

The 49ers traded down swapping 2nd rounders, and sending a 7th to the Raiders, while adding a 4th round selection. Banks may still have been a bit of reach where the 49ers selected him; but the guy is massive, he's reliable, and experienced. He immediately upgrades the team, and it is easy to understand this pick. The 49ers have plenty of capital still in the draft to move up in the 3rd if they wish, or maybe start thinking about findng an extra round 2 pick for next year.
