The telling detail in the meeting with Roger Goodell and the NFLPA is not what came out of it, but that a number of owners didnt know the meeting was happening. Why? Ray Ratto has some ideas.… Extra Point:
"Nothing against decisions that other guys have made in the past, (but) I feel like it's such an easy way out," Smith said. "I don't know of any other guy that has ever attempted to do what I'm doing. If there's anything that I feel like I stand for as a person, not even a football player, it's that."
Maybe drafting such a character guy will finally pay dividends. Smith seems to care a great deal about his ideals. That is role model worthy. Moreover he seems to want to start a trend of accountability and maybe even set a tone for other players to realize that stability is a real important part of the NFL process. This is abit of a throwback mentality. Say what you want about his skill, but his head is sound.
