QB # 4 Brandon Allen



The 49ers added veteran Brandon Allen, but don’t be surprised if they are not done with quarterbacks just yet.…

Allen, the veteran, has previously played for the Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos, and the Los Angeles Rams.

The signing of Allen by the 49ers is an interesting move, as most though the 49ers would seek a rookie 4th string quarterback. However, the addition of Allen gives the 49ers some depth at the position and provides them with a veteran backup quarterback who can help mentor Lance and provide some valuable experience.

Allen has played in 21 games in his career, starting in 8 of them. He has completed 141 passes for 1,563 yards and 9 touchdowns, with 7 interceptions. While these numbers are not particularly impressive, Allen's experience and knowledge of the game make him a valuable addition to the 49ers roster.

The signing of Allen also provides insurance for the 49ers in case of injuries to their quarterbacks. Injuries are a common occurrence in the NFL, and having a reliable backup quarterback is crucial for any team looking to compete for a championship.
