Extra Point:Although each of the backup QB's has had their moments this preseason, we all need to keep something in perspective: a) they did so against back up defenses and b) roster spots are precious. The thing that Kaepernick and Johnson bring that the other quarterbacks don't have is an elusiveness and pocket presence that coupled with some big arm strength means they can get the football out, put the football wherever it needs to be regardless of what is happening around them. That being said, Alex Smith showed he has incredible poise winning some tight games last year in the fourth quarter. The offense looks very different when he or Tolzien are on the field compared to Johnson or Kaepernick. It will be interesting to see what offense the Niners actually run game the regular season!
