The NFL regular season is just a few short weeks away, and while preseason games aren’t important to the standings, they are important for teams to get ready for the games
that actually count. Two of the top defenses in …
The Niners were able to dispose of the Vikings last week, and they won the game like they won all of their games last season; defense. They limited the Vikings to 6 points, while their quarterbacks limited their mistakes and managed the game through the run.
Houston unleashed their offense and defense last week against the Panthers, as they sacked Carolina quarterbacks eight times, and scored 26 points in the game.
Both of these teams will be on their games this week, and I expect both of them to play their starters a lot longer than last week. Both Matt Schaub and Alex Smith should play most of the first half, and while the Texans will probably fold first when it comes to pulling starters, this game should be close to the end.
With that being said, I think the total is the way to go with this game. 37 points isn’t a lot, but points will be at a premium this game, and the under is the play.
