Extra Point:
I will contest that the likely signing of Culpepper as a third string QB is virtually irrelevant. Unless Smith gets pounded into oblivion, and the 49ers are smart enough to actually let Kaepernick grow into a starting role, Culpepper wont do anything on the field for the team. That being said... I am not nearly as opposed to him as many are. Alex showed nothing in his few preseason sacks, so I remain unconvinced the 49ers have a 2011 starting QB on their roster as it is. Without Smith coming on as a real QB, this team is in big trouble.
