I don't think evidence is needed to determine that the 49ers were not happy with their coverage units last year. The units flat out were not up to task. I do think they are making efforts to improve - and that is what this signing is all about. In waiving Schepler it reconfirms that the 49ers fullback spot is all but wrapped up.
