Michael Crabtree’s costly kicks

This is what you get for being fashion forward. Michael Crabtree was fined $10,000 for wearing beige-ish/gold cleats (Air Midas?) in Monday’s game against the Steelers. Safety Donte Whitner, meanwhile, was hit with a $5,000 fine for a sock violation.…

Extra Point:
These guys make lots of cash, but no way does Crabtree take on the fine unless Nike was more than making it worth it. Wonder what the NFL would have to do to lock this down... or if it should even bother. Do socks and shoes really need to be uniform?
