SANTA CLARA – Brandon Jacobs told USA Today on Wednesday he’s very frustrated with his role on the 49ers. On Thursday in the 49ers’ locker room he clarified those comments to Bay Area reporters.

As many, including myself suggested, this Jacobs thing was overblown by the media. I am very happy he stepped up and cleared the air on 3 fronts: 1) He doesn't need any more information about his role than any other player, 2) He is happy, very happy with the organization, 3) He could play, but it would be smarter not to.
