Experts are pulling the job fully away from Alex Smith, but I don't know that the issue will be resolved this very week. I would still say there is a better than likely chance that Smith will start again this season not do to a Kaepernick injury. That being said, the message is clear. Harbaugh wants his guy at the help. He wants big play potential on every play. He wants Kaepernick as ready for the playoffs as he can be in a very young career. There is no doubt the offense looks more explosive with Kaepernick, but a part of me wonders if that is because Smith has been handcuffed.
