Kaepernick has an opportunity to showcase that he can be an accurate passer from within the pocket, and still a threat to move around. They difference is efficiency, if Kaepernick can prove that skill it will be hard to Smith to hold onto his starting spot through the offseason... especially if the 49ers do not go deep in the playoffs.
