The 49ers ran roughshod over the Raiders Saturday, piling up 239 yards on the ground. You might recall, however, that they performed a similar feat in this game two years ago, running for 275 yards against Oakland, 129 of them …
Extra Point:Yes it's preseason, but all backs had a great day yesterday - especially Hunter. He looked like Garrison Hearst, and that's a good thing. Great explosion, good vision, and he broke tackles and contributed in pass protection. That was exactly the type of performance the Niners were hoping to see. Choosing between he and Dixon won't be easy. My gut is that they are both active in a few games to start the season to see what happens.
Bruce Miller made a very strong case for a roster spot, and may take one from Moran Norris - which would be an interesting development, after all, how many backs can you keep? Also worth noting was the performances of Tarrell Brown who had a pretty good day at corner - and Parys Haralson who many have been down on the offseason.
