49ers-Vikings rewind: Kaepernick, McCoy finish strong

The 49ers' first-team offense looked crisp under Colin Kaepernick, who gave way to newly crowned backup Colt McCoy.

The start of the game just was not smooth for Kaepernick, but then he and Patton connected, and suddenly the team was rolling, and there was a collective sigh of relief from 49ers fans. Meanwhile McCoy had his best outing with the team - he still had his share of mistakes, but Harbaugh has publicly nominated him for the 2nd string quarterback role. Perhaps that is part of the trade strategy, perhaps Harbaugh was being honest. Meanwhile BJ Daniels continues to be impressive in the third string role, so the 49ers will have some tough decisions to make on where they find a roster spot for him.
