Well… just when you though the competition for worst team in the NFL was a tough match, the 49ers step up and make sure no other team in the league can take claim to the title. …
At least you can say the team did something right! It continued on it's path to get Baalke fired, and a top three pick in the draft. If we are really, really fortunate, we may even see Jed York actually take some accountability this offseason. But I'm not nearly that hopeful. You can of course, find the latest online odds at Betphoenix.ag to make sure the Niners stay the course losing out the rest of the season. The real question is where this insanity may stop. Kaepernick got to see the bench again, and though his performance was dismal, Gabbert was hardly the answer. There are plenty of questions about preparing for a cold weather game in Chicago by hanging out for a week in Miami... that's on the coaching staff... and of course, plenty to worry about as to whether the team can even find resurection in a new GM - especially if that GM is Gamble, to make it easy to keep their coach Kelly.
Ladies and Gentleman, this was embarassing. The Niners couldn't contend with an awful Bears team. The passing game lit up the scoreboard with get this... 6 total yards of passing. That's 18 feet! Imagine that... in 60 minutes, across two quarterbacks, the 49ers thew for 18 feet. That about encompasses how poor a performance this is. Even if you were betting on the Niners to lose to the dismal Bears, I'm sure you wouldn't have bet on 18 feet of passing yards... not after Kaepernick's past few reasonable performances.
That about sums up the offensive performance... the defense? Giving up 26 points and over 300 yards to the Bears? That's like insult to injury. The Bears are an awful team, and yet the Niners gave them nearly 100 more yards of offense than their season average. E-M-B-A-R-A-S-S-I-N-G. That's the one word to sum up this season, and the exclamation point was thrown on by this game.
It's at this point in the season where we as fans need to come together and send a message to the ownership. Stop putting money into the owners pockets and send a clear strong message that this type of a circus is not what the 49ers are a bout. At the same time cheer hard. Cheer hard for Browns to win a couple games. Cheer hard for the Jaguars to win a couple games... and cheer hard for the first overall pick in the draft.
