Extra Point:
A big difference between Kaepernick and most of the recent 49ers drafted QBs is the ceilin that Dilfer mentions. All quarterbacks need time to develop - Smith was seen as te most ready to play quarterback when he was drafted - despite what college coaches said. The ceiling was low there. In Kapernick they have a talented player player who needs to adjust to the NFL begore he can start making leaps forward. That is different in a good way if you ask me.
