Did 49ers jump the gun on Jenkins? Baalke doesn’t think so



The questions thousands of 49ers fans are wondering right now: Why did the team take A.J. Jenkins so early, and would he have been available later? Trent Baalke doesn’t think…

Extra Point:

Just like last year when people thought the team reached on Aldon Smith, there is sentiment that Jenkins was taken too early. I for one think the team may have been able to trade back and get a player of the same impact (if not Jenkins himself), but there was definitely something the team liked about him. Jenkins speed, balance, precise routes and good hands will allow him to compete for a slot position on the team - but it remains to be seen how much he can contribute in his first year with the club.
