Smith needs 1.2 sacks a game to take the single season sack record. That would be a heck of an effort against some tough opponents, but if anyone can hit those numbers it's him. 49ers fans who have been dying to have a pass rusher on this team for so many years... who have been waiting for someone at least as good as Julian Peterson was or Andre Carter was supposed to be, finally have a guy that they can get behind. If you don't believe me, or the numbers, you can ask the CBS reporters who covered the 49ers game. Smith was about all they could talk about the whole game.
