Candlestick Park to be demolished within year

Plans were announced Monday to blow up the 53-year-old, 69,000-seat stadium once the 49ers finish up their 2013-2014 season and move south to Santa Clara.

It will sad to see the historic 'Stick be demolished. The memories of fans, players, coaches and staff fading from that point on. It is time, it is necessary, but it will be sad.
