Byham waived; who’s the 49ers’ third tight end?



The 49ers today waived injured tight end Nate Byham, a former sixth-round pick who tore his ACL last August and has been slowed in his comeback from the injury.…

Extra Point:

This is probably a strong indication that the team likes Konrad Reuland. Byham is still a candidate for the IR, and I suspect the Niners would like to put him there if he clears waivers. The Niners could also go light at TE and allow a player like Dobbs to take on the dual offensvie / defensive duties if needed. Given how heavy the Niners go on tight ends at times, I'm not sure the team would go without 3 true Tight Ends.
