Are 49ers correct in their use of Michael Crabtree and Vernon Davis?

I had a gut feeling about the 49ers’ pass distribution, so I checked it out. I don’t believe any other analyst has noticed this.

Michael Crabtree leads the team in targets with 31 – almost a third more than Vernon …

Extra Point:

Are the Niners deliberately trying to get the ball to receivers instead of tight ends? yes. Why would that be the case if the team's first goal is to win? Because they want to win deep in the playoffs, and come playoff time last year, it was very clear that the Alex didn't have the rapport with his receivers to have any impact. The 49ers feel they can win limiting Davis in this way, and in the long run it will pay dividends. It's a long sighted strategy - and one that should also include more Manningham and more Moss.
