SANTA CLARA – Alex Smith spoke in front of his locker Wednesday afternoon. He talked about turnovers, Randy Moss and the upcoming opponent – the Detroit. Lions. Here’s a transcript.

Smith gives textbook answers every time. Clearly though the Lions are going to be coming after him to create some opportunities in the turnover games. Smith has an opportunity to build on a really crazy record that he now owns ahead of both Montana and Young, and it comes from protecting the ball. Continuing this streak and doing it in a way that is not ultra conservative will be an interesting task for Smith.
