There is a new chain of command in Santa Clara after a front office shakeup, but that's not the only thing looking different at 49ers headquarters these days.… Extra Point:
"Jed York, team president and CEO, announced he is no longer the team president. That title now belongs to Gideon Yu, who a week earlier officially became a minority owner of the team.
Yu was formerly chief financial officer of both Facebook and YouTube. He has also worked at such companies as Yahoo!, Disney and Hilton. He will run the business side of the 49ers."
An interesting formal announcement that we saw coming after some leeks during the Super Bowl. The 49ers clearly have a plan to get their stadium built off and it has to do with silicon valley. A fitting process for a team in San Francisco.
When it comes to knocking out the hill ... I'm not sure I really agree with that. I think hill training can be an important part of conditioning. I remain surprised that the team was opposed to using it this past year, and that they are so against it that they are getting rid of. There are other ways to hill train (treadmills), or get a similar result (sand training), but I'm surprised the Niners would choose to remove this option from their repertoire.
49ers reconstruction goes beyond front office
