It’s official. The 49ers changed their injury report this morning, moving Alex Smith from questionable to out after an examination by 49ers medical director Daniel Garza. Colin Kaepernick will start…

Earlier today I wrote that I was amazed that Smith would start. Clearly, he's not ready. The question the remains, will Kaepernick be effective today, given that he did not get most of the repetitions in practice and the 49ers have been game planning as if Smith would be the quarterback.
