This is my Saturday column on the 49ers’ recent history drafting wide receivers.
By now, you’ve seen what I’ve seen from A.J. Jenkins the past two training camps:
A wide receiver utterly overmatched by starting NFL cornerbacks. Friday night …
Extra Point:I think ... for once... Grant is on to something here. I have said for a long time that the 49ers should not draft receivers in the first round... even when guys do turn out - like Crabtree, I don't think the reward warrants the risk. There are better spots to choose a receiver. I hope Patton turns out for this club, because it is becoming quite clear that AJ Jenkins is not ready.
