49ers announce practice squad

The 49ers announced their practice squad this afternoon. It consists of these eight players:

DT   Tony Jerod-Eddie

LB     Cam Johnson

DT    Matthew Masifilo

T       Al Netter

WR   Nathan Palmer

S       Michael Thomas

T       Kenny Wiggins

LB     Michael Wilhoite

Extra Point:

The 49ers would have loved to have added Chris Owusu, Mike Person, and Konrad Reuland to the practice squad but they were otherwise picked up. Nathan Palmer had a chance to go elsewhere but chose to return to the 49ers. Cam Johnson did not have much opportunity to show his stuff this summer due to injury, but remains an interesting prospect for the Niners to develop as a pass rusher.
