It makes you wonder. For years after the 49ers 1994-5 Super Bowl victory the team still housed the talent of their Super Bowl past. Steve Young, Jerry Rice, Bryant Young... and there were of course others. Now on defense, this team just a few years later, has been reduced to just one active player. Brooks. When Bowman returns that number will tick up to two. This NFL has changed.
Brooks has shown flashes of versatility moving inside and outside at linebacker as well as along the defensive line. The Niners will continue to see where he can contribute most as they try to make up for all the talent they lost this offseason.
