| Walsh’s Son Passes May 24 2002 By Bryan Hersh of 49ers Paradise It’s always sad when a parent out lives their child. Bill Walsh unfortunately will have to live with that pain for the remainder of his life. Walsh’s son Steve, a veteran radio reporter for KGO (in the Bay Area), passed on at the age of 46. Steve had been ill for quite some time. Both Bill Walsh and his wife Geri were at Steve’s side in Denver at the time of death. The death follows Walsh's loss of his Mother, on May 14th - making it a particularly tough month for the family. Walsh was highly regarded in the media, and within the bay area. A loveable voice, Steve Walsh will certainly be missed from the community. Services will be held in Aurora, Colorado on Friday.
