A tribute to the man who would never quit:
Steve Young.

Steve Young took over the 49ers after Joe Montana. Attempting to fill shoes that seemed to big to be filled, Young took the field and showed every fan in the league why Bill Walsh went after him so progressively. Two MVP awards later, and one Super Bowl Championship ring, Steve Young's days as a 9er seem to be in jeopardy. To one of the greatest to ever play the game, and to a competitor who would never call it quits, this page is for you Steve, and my hope is you retire, you most definately deserve it, and the thought of you lying on the ground once more sends shivers down my spine.

I am attempting to compile a page of fan's memories of Steve Young, please E-mail me your memmories.

Below find article covering the Steve Young Saga:

"I loved playing for the 49ers, and for the record I know I can still play."

-- Steve Young, former QB of the 49ers and future Hall Of Famer.

"I'm one of those who feel he's had a brilliant career. He's become one of the most famous men in sports. I'm at the stage of life where I believe his best option is retirement. But, that's not his option. It's his choice . . . to continue to play."

-- Bill Walsh, the current general manager and former head coach who first brought Steve Young to the 49ers

``Whatever decision he makes is the right one.''

-- Phil Simms, said former New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms, an analyst with CBS Sports

"Whatever he decides, I'm going to support him,"

-- Steve Mariucci, who has grown close to Young as coach with the 49ers.

"Steve Young was not Joe Montana, but he was STEVE YOUNG."

-- Bryan Hersh, creator of 49ers Paradise.
