Veteran offensive lineman, Ray Brown, who was released from the 49ers in early June has recently signed a contract with his former offensive coordinators team, the Detroit Lions. Head Coach, Marty Mornhingweg was more than pleased to once again have Ray Brown on his team.

Brown is a class act from head to toe, and an all around great offensive lineman. I have been advocating since the 49ers indicated they would release Brown that the team should keep him on in a back up role. It would certainly have alleviated a lot of the depth questions regarding the offensive line.

So while Brown hangs up his cleats in Sunny California and moves up North to the much more frigid Detroit, I wish him the best of luck. In my eyes though, the offensive lineman working on his fortieth year, will forever be a 49er.

Talk about it in the 49ers Paradise Forum
