Kick Returner Jimmy Williams received his first ever player of the week award this week. Williams returned a punt for a touchdown against the Seahawks this past weekend. It was the first touchdown on special teams for the 49ers since 1998 when RW McQuarters scored.

The 49ers released James Jordan from their active roster. The receiver was released to make room for another safety - a former Eagle, Tim Hauck. The team also waived Austin Lee from the practice squad, and itís expected the team will add James Jordan to that group.

The 49ers are expecting John Keith to play with a cast on his arm. Keith did participate in practice.

Jamie Winborn may undergo surgery for his knee and may not return during the regular season. Doctors are surprised at the lack of progress in Winbornís recovery.

Talk about it in the 49ers Paradise Forum
