The 49ers have been plagued by the injury bug this summer, but some players are finally getting ready to return to play. Particularly Center Jeremy Newberry, who won’t play tonight, but has been in practice with the team. Offensive lineman, Ron Stone is expected to resume practice this week.

Quarterback, Cade McNown is once again not expected to see action tonight. His shoulder is still bothering him, and likely will require surgery.

Linebackers Shane Elam and Brandon Moore won’t play tonight either, and that could mean additional play time for Frank Strong who is doing everything he can to make the roster.

Receiver Nate Jackson has missed practice time but is expected to play against the Broncos tonight.

John Engelberger will miss the game after having surgery on his appendix.

John Schlect has not returned to practice as of yet, neither has fellow defensive lineman, Josh Shaw. Cornerback Anthony Parker and safety Kevin Curtis are out for the season, while safety Al Blades is still trying to come back from his foot injury.

Talk about it in the 49ers Paradise Forum
