Day in and day out this off-season receiver Cedrick Wilson has been catching the eyes of team mates, coaches, front office staff and fans. Wilson, now in his second year is looking to make a big splash at receiver. Using a combination of speed and solid hands, this quick receiver has been turning heads all off-season.

While Wilson has a long way to climb up the depth charts, he will get his chances. The 49ers really like what they see in the young receiver, and will try to get the ball in his hands more often. It’s just too bad there are so few balls to go around.

Wilson will continue to see time returning kicks. His versatility here will allow him to get a few more touches on the football. Still he wants more. Wilson is out to prove this season that he can play at the Pro level.

A star in college at Tennessee, Wilson was selected in the sixth round of the 2001 draft. He spent most of last season learning the offense and seeing some kick return duties. He can also be used an emergency quarterback if push ever came to shove, and because of that, he could be a candidate for trick plays. Wilson is out to prove this season that he can do what he did in college with the 49ers. The 49ers would like nothing more than to see this young and talented receiver emerge and really challenge the depth ahead of him.

Talk about it in the 49ers Paradise Forum
