49ers Bring In Guest Coach
April 29 2002
By Bryan Hersh of 49ers Paradise
Traditionally the 49ers offensive line coach is among the best in the league. The late Bobb McKittrick started the tradition many years ago. It has since been continued by Pat Morris who has done an incredible job during his tenure. This year, the 49ers have added a new face to the offensive line coaching staff, though he's not new to the 49ers.

Former 49ers offensive lineman Chris Dalman was in attendance at the 49ers first mini-camp working along side of Morris. Coach Mariucci has since declared that Dalman is a 'guest coach' and will continue to work with the team throughout training camp. Dalman however will not likely join the team as a coach in the regular season.

Dalman was a great lineman for the 49ers, and his addition to the coaching staff, even on a temporary basis, is an encouraging sign for the team. Not only will Dalman be able to help groom some of the younger lineman on the team, and act as a sounding board for some of the veterans. He also could provide the 49ers a successor to Morris a ways down the line.
