38-year old kicker Phil Dawson just tweeted he has signed with the 49ers. His tweet…[rss-cut]: “I am humbled & thrilled to have the opportunity to continue my career with my new team, the SF 49ers!”
Dawson made 93 percent of his field goal attempts last season (29 for 31). He was tied for the best field goal percentage in the NFL. On kicks longer than 50 yards, Dawson was seven-for-seven.

Dawson gives the 49ers the solid kicker they were hoping Akers would be last season. Here is hoping that the offense is that he is only needed for extra points and kickoffs.
