UPDATE: July 30 2007. Bill Walsh, father, coach, and all around good person lost his battle to leukemia today. 49ers Paradise wishes the best to him and his family. A true tagic loss of a simply amazing man. Words really can't express how big a loss this is not just to football, but all around.

Prior to passing, the 49ers Paradise sent the following card to Bill. He did send a thank you letter to confirm he received it. Even in his last few days he was a true gentleman. In honor of him, please sign below (even if you have signed before) and I will do my best to get this to his family once the signatures slow.

We love you Bill.

Welcome to the Bill Walsh get well wish page. Please post your messages for Bill Walsh. I will be printing, and sending these messages to Coach Walsh on December 20th, but the page will remain a fixed part of 49ers Paradise so he can come back and read any future responses.

The greatest coach in the history of the NFL. The NFL wouldn't be where it is today without you. Your contributions are unparalleled and for that as a 49er fan, I am gracious for you to have been a monumental part of the organization. An immortal legend. I was truly saddened to hear of the passing of Bill Walsh, a great coach and equally great man who, as Head Coach of my beloved San Francisco 49ers, brought me up as much as my parents did since I discovered football nearly 25 years ago. Rest in Peace, God bless and thank you for all the good times!

Bill - You've been one of the greatest NFL coach. I've been a Canadian Niners fan since the early 80s, and that's due to your work!

The West coast offense schema has revolutionized football forever, and you can rest in peace with all those great football minds.

My heart goes out to Bill Walsh's family and friends. The way Bill lived his life was to benefit us all. His influence (varying degrees) made us better because he showed us how to live life through intellect, charming wit, compassion for others, and knowing what's best in the long run. An example of what defined Bill was in his younger days as he rebuilt a car. It was more important to him to to improve the car's engine, than to improve the appearance of it. He wanted to see it perform well...He wanted to see others perform well.

God Bless and Love Always,
Bill

Dear Bill and Family,

I dont know if I can possible put into words the feelings and respect that I and the Niner Faithfulls have for you. You took over a team and franchise that was the punching bag and laughing stock of the NFL for decades. And you and your staff turned them into World Champions in three short years. And with that, you also took a City and a fan base that suffered from an inferiority complex all those years to a proud and beaming fraternity who now will always have, and accept nothing, but high expectations for this team and organization. Thank you coach Walsh. Rest in Peace and be assured that you will never be forgotten!

My heart goes out to the Walsh family. My thanks also go out to the Walsh family for sharing this great man with us. What a gift he was, and for many reasons. Always humble, soft spoken, and respectable of others..his attitude was evident in the young players he developed. Joe, Steve, Jerry...all the guys who were fortunate enough to be coached by him became not only outstanding players, but outstanding members of society. Thanks Mr. Walsh, you will be missed-but never forgotten.

With my extreme condolences to the Walsh Family. Football wouldn't have been the same with Bill Walsh. Not many teams had what the 49ers had in the 80's and early 90's...people didn't have to like the Niners but they sure had to give them respect for being a classy group of professionals. Thats what Walsh instilled in his players, the understanding that the contribution of every player is needed to be champions. The Greatest Coach who ever lived will be missed by many.
